Companies introducing Microsoft Teams Phone face the challenge that users need/want to use their office phones. Companies therefore have to dispose of hundreds or thousands of working phones. This is neither economical nor resource-efficient. However, there are ways to integrate existing phones into teams. This is not always possible, but works with many phones, e.g. from Cisco or Yealink. You can find all compatible Teams SIP gateway devices here
It is particularly important to us to protect the environment and save resources, which is why we have decided to pass on our expertise as a guide for IT administrators and other IT companies. More information on the topic at Microsoft
Once the settings have been made in Microsoft, you can turn your attention to the phone. There are two ways to make the necessary settings.
Prerequisite
Language settings:
Option 1 - Suitable for a large number of devices that should automatically receive the necessary settings.
On the DHCP server, the DHCP option 150, 43 or 66 is configured to the following value for the subnet emea.ipp.sdg.teams.microsoft.com/lang_de/$PSN.xml
If option 150 is already configured and is still required due to an existing call manager environment, option 66 can be used as an alternative.
Option 2 - Suitable for small environments
Switch to the administration interface of the telephone (http://192.xxx.xxx.x/admin/advanced) and enter the following under Voice -> Provisionig -> Profile Rule: http: //emea.ipp.sdg.teams.microsoft.com/lang_de/$PSN.xml .
In both cases, the telephone is restarted. With the DHCP option, however, it may take some time for the phones to receive the settings.
After the administrator has made all the settings, comes the complicated part - the end users have to log on to the devices with their own access data. :D
Step 2 - A master key is displayed on the phone, which must be entered at https://aka.ms/siplogin. If the user is not logged in, the login window appears.
